2019 LaVern’s Merlot

A wine made to be a chilled red very different than Merlot from the West coast.   Twelve months in neutral oak makes this a very smooth and fruit forward Merlot, with notes of black current, cassis, and other stone fruits.  Pairs excellent with veal and lamb chops, as well as a savory dessert such as blackberry cobbler or strawberry cheese cake.  This is one of the few reds that can be served at 40 degrees and still present nicely on the nose and pallet.
